In this community, young people are advise to refrain from using drugs and engaging in any other actions that can lead to crime. Edwin Nkenya Ngwana, the Divisional Officer (DO) of the Kumba II sub-division, made the call on Tuesday, January 10, following his raid on a drug addicts’ hideout. Along with a few of his associates, he conducted what observers claim was a surprise raid at the known drug-consuming area of Club Number One in the Kumba II subdivision.
Unkempt hair or attire that suggests otherwise will not be tolerated, according to the DO. The guiding principle moving forward is decency and social responsibility. The raids are a much-needed boost to the community’s morality and sense of civic duty, other parents have said.
However, the DO disapproved of the fact that certain anonymous people have turned it into a money-making scheme. And are attempting to thwart the work of local and administrative officials. The DO urged parents to continue modeling good behavior for their kids in order to keep them from succumbing to peer pressure and juvenile criminality.
The divisional officer appealed to everyone in the sub-division to continue working for a society free of drugs. Kumba II council has wage war on drugs and come rain or sunshine, they will win.
